Our Heritage
Lakeland Park Shores is part of a story that spans generations. Established in 1956, Lakeland Park Shores is one of Lake Elsinore's oldest legally permitted RV trailer parks. Situated on five scenic lakeside acres along the shores of Lake Elsinore, Southern California's largest natural freshwater lake, Lakeland Park Shores later became a licensed Manufactured Home community operating as a Mobilehome park before being thoughtfully reimagined as a Private Lakeside Cottage Residency in Lake Elsinore. For decades, from the late 1800s through the mid-1900s, the Lakeland Park property was home to a hunting lodge. Construction of Lakeland Park as a residential community began in 1953 and was completed in 1956. Lake Elsinore is a premier Southern California destination for boating, fishing, camping, water sports, and lakeside recreation. Its motto is "Dream Extreme." The city also holds a unique place in California history. During the era of racial segregation, the Lake Shore Beach Club became one of California's few integrated recreational destinations. This little known chapter reflects a tradition of openness and hospitality that remains an enduring part of the community's legacy. Today, Lakeland Park Shores continues that tradition by welcoming residents from many cultures and backgrounds who share a common appreciation for peaceful lakeside living, mutual respect, and a true sense of belonging.
The name Lakeland Park Shores was chosen to honor both the property's history and its future. "Lakeland Park" preserves the name of the original 1956 community, while "Shores" reflects its unique lakeside setting and its thoughtful evolution into a Private Lakeside Cottage Community.
